TechFlow news — On November 20, Vivek Ramaswamy, leader of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), posted on social platform X: "The Treasury maintains a 'Do Not Pay (DNP) list,' requiring agencies to check it before disbursing funds. The DNP screens for deceased individuals, those delinquent on federal debts, and excluded contractors. But in reality, it doesn't work that way: for example, the Small Business Administration (SBA) issued over 100,000 forgivable loans to individuals on the DNP list, resulting in $5.3 billion paid to recipients who may not have been eligible for federal assistance. The SBA Inspector General recognized this issue and recommended the agency cease such practices, but the current leadership has rejected the proposal. This blatant waste must stop. It's time for DOGE to step in."
Elon Musk responded, calling the scale and audacity of government fraud 'shocking'.
