TechFlow news, on November 18, according to Jinshi News citing Bloomberg and the Associated Press, the outgoing Biden administration appears to be desperately reshaping the global geopolitical landscape by authorizing the lifting of some restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western-made weapons to strike military targets inside Russia.
The decision reportedly comes amid increased support from North Korea for Russian President Putin's forces and a rise in missile and drone attacks by Russia against its neighboring countries. This approval marks a significant shift in U.S. policy—occurring as Biden nears the end of his term and President-elect Trump, who has vowed to quickly end the war and expressed skepticism about continued U.S. support, prepares to take office. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has long urged allied nations to allow the use of Western weapons against Russian military targets within Russia.
He believes this decision will enable Ukraine to better defend against attacks targeting its critical infrastructure and cities. According to sources, if approved, this capability might first be used in Russia’s Kursk region, where Ukraine is currently fighting both North Korean and Moscow-backed troops. However, one insider noted that even if any authorization is granted, it is unlikely to meet the full extent of Ukraine’s requests. It is understood that Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range strike in the coming days, most likely using the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS).
