TechFlow news, November 15 — According to Jinshi Data, user numbers on the U.S. social media platform Bluesky have surged as users flee X following Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election. The shift comes amid concerns that upcoming changes to service terms could complicate the legal landscape for the platform. On Thursday, Bluesky reported approximately 2.5 million new users over the past week, bringing its total user count to over 16 million.
Data from analytics firm SimilarWeb shows that after news of Trump’s election win, X received 46.5 million visits in the U.S. on November 6—more than any single day in the past year and 38% higher than recent monthly daily averages. However, over 115,000 U.S. users deactivated their X accounts that day, the highest number since Elon Musk acquired the platform. Meanwhile, Bluesky attracted around 1.2 million visitors on November 6, surpassing Meta’s Threads, which drew 950,000.
