TechFlow news — On November 14, according to Fortune, following The Guardian's announcement of exiting the X platform, Spain's Barcelona-based newspaper La Vanguardia announced it would cease publishing news on X (formerly Twitter). The newspaper stated that X has devolved into a "network of misinformation" and an "echo chamber for conspiracy theories," lacking effective content moderation.
Since Elon Musk acquired the platform for $44 billion, he has significantly downsized the trust and safety team, relaxed content moderation policies, and reinstated multiple accounts known for promoting conspiracy theories. La Vanguardia pointed out that the platform is now rife with content violating human rights, including racism, misogyny, and hate speech, alongside a large number of bot accounts spreading disinformation. The newspaper emphasized that it will continue monitoring personal, corporate, and institutional accounts on X to gather information, and its journalists may still use the platform provided they adhere to principles of human rights and freedom of expression.
