TechFlow reported, citing The Block, that Geoff Kendrick, Global Head of Digital Assets Research at Standard Chartered, recently published an analysis forecasting that if the Republican Party gains control of both chambers of the U.S. Congress, the global cryptocurrency market capitalization could reach $10 trillion by the end of 2026, a 300% increase from current levels.
Kendrick believes that if Trump takes office in January 2025, he may swiftly overturn Biden's veto of SAB 121—an SEC accounting guideline considered controversial for hindering investment banks from offering large-scale crypto custody services. He expects the new administration to introduce digital asset-friendly policies, including stablecoin regulation and a softer stance from the SEC toward digital assets.
