TechFlow news, November 11 — According to The Block, Muneeb Ali, founder of the Bitcoin Layer2 network Stacks, said on social platform X that the long-awaited Stacks upgrade could launch as early as next month. "Early December is the target date, and sBTC v1 appears to be on track, with subsequent upgrades rolling out in January and beyond," Ali stated.
Stacks describes sBTC as the first trustless two-way Bitcoin-anchored system, with the potential to expand decentralized finance (DeFi) applications on Bitcoin's base layer. The system aims to solve Bitcoin's "write problem"—the challenge of writing data directly onto the Bitcoin mainchain, which is crucial for DeFi applications.
