TechFlow news — On November 5, according to CNN, Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein said in an interview with CNN that vote counting during the 2024 election cycle will be significantly faster than in 2020. Bluestein emphasized that staff began pre-processing mail-in ballots immediately at 7 a.m. on election day as polling stations opened.
Bluestein pointed out that the main reasons for the accelerated vote counting include:
- A greater number of voters returning to in-person voting, leading to fewer mail-in ballots.
- The city government has acquired new ballot-opening equipment, improving efficiency.
- An increased number of vote-counting personnel.
He expects that if everything proceeds smoothly, the majority of mail-in ballots could be counted by noon on Wednesday (November 6). Bluestein also stressed that elections in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania will ensure freedom, fairness, and security, expressing full confidence in the integrity of the election.
It is reported that during the 2020 election, the Associated Press announced the winner at 11:26 p.m. Eastern Time, four days after Election Day.
