TechFlow news, November 4 — Prominent venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) announced an additional donation of over $23 million to the crypto policy organization Fairshake and its affiliated political action committee (PAC) for the 2026 U.S. midterm election cycle. Chris Dixon, a general partner at a16z, stated that the move aims to support bipartisan lawmakers who understand the importance of cryptocurrency technology, ensuring the United States maintains its technological leadership over the coming decades.
Dixon emphasized that regardless of the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, a16z will continue backing policymakers committed to establishing practical regulatory frameworks—ones that protect consumers while allowing the crypto industry to grow. In addition to financial support, a16z plans to meet with bipartisan lawmakers to educate them on blockchain technology and the challenges it faces.
a16z is urging Congress to act swiftly by passing comprehensive digital asset market structure legislation, pragmatic stablecoin laws, and creating compliant pathways for decentralized networks and legitimate businesses. Dixon noted that the crypto industry has become central to America's global technological leadership, with more than 40 million Americans owning cryptocurrency and Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs already holding $65 billion in on-chain assets.
