TechFlow reports on November 1, Shytoshi Kusama, the anonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu (SHIB), revealed a new scam tactic on X. Scammers are purchasing community members' X accounts for 1 ETH, then renaming the accounts to mimic fraudulent token names and issuing fake tokens. Currently, scammers are primarily targeting the upcoming TREAT token by creating counterfeit versions.
To address this issue, Shytoshi Kusama announced the introduction of a Karma and Reputation system linked to DAO governance, designed to reward positive behavior and record malicious activities. This system will assist FAOs (First Aid Officers) in selecting qualified administrators and moderators, while also attracting genuine developers to the ecosystem. Shytoshi Kusama urged users to remain vigilant against such scams and recommended that community members obtain project information exclusively through official channels.
