Under the collaboration, members of Thunes' Direct Global Network will be able to use USDC for 24/7 cross-border transactions, enabling instant transfers and reducing capital costs through USDC settlements.
Thunes' Direct Global Network spans more than 130 countries and 80 currencies, connecting over 7 billion mobile wallets and bank accounts worldwide, and supports over 320 payment methods including GCash, M-Pesa, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Its primary users include tech platforms such as Uber, Deliveroo, and Grab, as well as fintech firms and banks.
Circle, the issuer of USDC and EURC, offers fully reserved stablecoin services through its regulated entities. This partnership will enable Thunes to leverage the advantages of blockchain technology to deliver more efficient and cost-effective cross-border payment solutions to its network participants.
