TechFlow news, on October 20, Vitalik released the third part of Ethereum protocol's future development roadmap: "The Scourge," outlining two key objectives:
1. Minimize centralization risks in Ethereum’s staking layer, particularly in block building and capital provision (i.e., MEV and staking pools);
2. Minimize the risk of extracting excessive value from users.
Vitalik emphasized that addressing bottlenecks such as centralization in block building, economic-driven centralization in staking, the 32 ETH minimum staking requirement, and hardware demands will support Ethereum’s decentralization progress.
Previously, in December 2023, Vitalik published an updated Ethereum development roadmap for 2023, consisting of six parts: The Merge, The Surge, The Scourge, The Verge, The Purge, and The Splurge.
