TechFlow News, October 16 — According to Cointelegraph, Tim McCourt, Senior Managing Director at CME Group, stated that "the first major step has been taken toward launching an XRP ETF. CME now has an XRP reference rate and real-time index, which marks the first step in building this ecosystem, complete with over 50 real-time prices and reference rates. This is crucial for product providers like Bitwise, as they can now point to a fully regulated benchmark."
One week earlier, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission received an XRP ETF application from Canary Capital, making it the second provider after Bitwise Asset Management to file for an XRP ETF.
