TechFlow news, on October 16, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch of its phone number verification service, Telegram Gateway, on his personal channel. Businesses can now send verification codes directly to users via Telegram, saving millions of dollars, with each verification costing only $0.01.
Pavel Durov said, "Phone number verification is a multi-billion-dollar industry. Telegram alone spends around $10 million monthly verifying users registering for or logging into our service. Our pricing is unprecedentedly low, so I'm not sure whether Telegram Gateway will become a significant revenue source for us. But we hope this initiative improves global efficiency and reduces costs—and thus prices—for many services worldwide."
