TechFlow news, October 12 — According to Cointelegraph, an IT engineer from Newport, UK, James Howells, is suing the Newport City Council for £495 million (approximately $647 million). In 2013, Howells accidentally discarded a hard drive containing 8,000 bitcoins while cleaning his house. Over the years, he has repeatedly requested permission from the council to excavate at the local landfill site, but has been consistently denied. The council stated that excavation could pose environmental hazards and questioned the legality and feasibility of Howells' claim. Howells has now assembled a legal team to pursue the case, which is expected to go to trial in December this year.
