TechFlow news, on October 11 at Tesla's "We Robot" event, Elon Musk announced the unveiling of CyberCab, a driverless taxi and autonomous Model Y. Production is expected to begin in 2026, with mass production slated for 2027. The CyberCab will be priced below $30,000, with an operating cost of approximately $0.20 per mile. Musk stated that the usage frequency of autonomous vehicles could increase five to tenfold in the future. Users will first experience the robotaxi functionality in Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, with expansion to other markets following regulatory approval in the United States.
In addition, Musk announced Robovan, a driverless minibus capable of carrying up to 20 people, and unveiled the Optimus robot, which is expected to cost between $20,000 and $30,000. The Optimus robot can perform various tasks such as childcare, dog walking, lawn mowing, and features high flexibility.
