TechFlow reports, according to the latest update from the official website of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, the virtual asset trading platform license application submitted by HKDAX was withdrawn on October 9. The operating company of HKDAX is named "Hong Kong Digital Asset Xchange Limited," which has no Chinese name. It is understood that the company initially submitted its license application to the SFC on August 27, 2024.
To date, a total of 13 applicants for virtual asset trading platform licenses have either withdrawn or had their applications returned by the SFC, with one application returned. Additionally, there are currently 15 ongoing license applications, among which 11 are considered likely to be granted licenses, while three virtual asset trading platforms have already obtained licenses.
