By the close, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 6.62%, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 8.15%, and the ChiNext Index plunged 10.59%, with the Shanghai index losing ground below the 3,300 level. More than 5,000 stocks declined across the entire market, while total trading volume reached 2.9 trillion yuan, exceeding 2 trillion yuan for the third consecutive trading day.
