TechFlow reported, on October 6, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced the upcoming launch of the "Gift" feature on his personal channel. Users will be able to send gifts to friends and family, and recipients can choose to display them on their profile or sell them to obtain "Stars." Some limited-edition gifts will support conversion into NFTs based on the TON blockchain later this year. These tokenized gifts can be auctioned and traded outside Telegram, with ownership recorded on the blockchain.
Durov stated that this feature will provide users with a new way of social interaction while bringing more application scenarios to the TON ecosystem. Additionally, Telegram will launch other new features, with details to be revealed in future announcements.
