TechFlow news, on October 2, decentralized AI data liquidity network Vana announced the launch of the Genepool DataDAO network, which aims to reclaim ownership of genetic data and fight for genetic sovereignty. U.S.-based personal genomics company 23andMe previously sold individuals' genetic information to third parties without user consent, sharing anonymized data with pharmaceutical companies for drug research and development. Genepool DataDAO will bring together 23andMe users to collectively decide how our genetic data should be handled. Vana will support Genepool DataDAO in fulfilling its mission to reclaim data from 23andMe.
Notably, Genepool DataDAO has launched an initiative allowing users to earn points by contributing genetic data.
