TechFlow news: Brazil's Supreme Court has ordered social media platform X to pay a fine of approximately $5.2 million before its services can be restored in the country.
Earlier, the social media platform, controlled by U.S. billionaire Musk, had already appointed a local legal representative and removed inappropriate content as instructed by the court. Judge Alexandre de Moraes ruled on Friday that X must fully pay a previously ordered fine of 18.3 million reais, plus an additional 10 million reais in fines imposed last week for allowing some Brazilian users to access the platform during the ban, before it can resume operations in Brazil. The total amount of the two fines amounts to approximately $5.2 million.
