TechFlow reports, according to Arkham monitoring, an early whale address holding $77 million worth of Bitcoin has recently become active, transferring 5 BTC to the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. The address still holds 1,215 BTC, valued at approximately $77 million. These bitcoins were mined in February and March 2009, during the first month following the launch of the Bitcoin network.
After multiple fund movements between 2011 and 2014, this address had remained dormant for nearly a decade, during which the value of its holdings surged from $474,000 to over $80 million.
Arkham notes that this whale address began reactivating about three weeks ago and has since transferred a total of 10 BTC to Kraken in three separate transactions.
Notably, just days ago, another early Bitcoin whale from the same era woke up after a 15-year dormancy, moving $16 million worth of Bitcoin.
