TechFlow news: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has explained the limitations of ZK-VMs (zero-knowledge virtual machines) in privacy use cases. A user pointed out that ZK-VMs are nearly superior in almost every aspect, yet ironically fail precisely in the privacy use case.
In response, Vitalik said: "The explanation is simple: privacy use cases require client-side proving, and current client-side provers aren't fast enough to handle anything beyond Merkle branches."
