TechFlow news — On September 22, according to The New York Times, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced she has accepted CNN's invitation to participate in the second presidential debate on October 23. Harris said on social media she "gladly" accepted the invitation and expressed hope that former President Trump would join as well. However, Trump again rejected the proposal, claiming it was "too late" for a debate, citing that early voting had already begun in some states.
Harris's campaign team is actively pushing for a second debate. Campaign spokesperson Brian Fallon and campaign chair Jennifer O'Malley Dillon both issued statements supporting the decision. O'Malley Dillon emphasized: "The American people deserve another opportunity to see Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate before casting their votes. In modern history, holding only one general election debate is unprecedented." Harris was widely seen as having won the first debate on September 10, and her team has been seeking a second face-off ever since.
