TechFlow news, September 20 — According to Coindesk, multiple Bitcoin wallets from the "Satoshi era" suddenly became active after lying dormant for 15 years. On-chain data shows that over 250 BTC (approximately $16 million) was transferred in the morning hours European time, split across five transactions with 50 BTC each moved into new wallets. These bitcoins originated from block rewards in early 2009 and had never been moved before. It remains unclear whether these wallets belong to the same individual or entity. At the time of reporting, the newly created wallets have not transferred funds to exchanges. Notably, similar large-scale movements of "Satoshi era" bitcoins occurred last July and December, with over 1,000 BTC sent to exchanges in December, likely having since been sold.
