TechFlow reported on September 11 that Penpie announced its deposit and withdrawal functions remain suspended as the platform undergoes comprehensive audits by multiple security firms to ensure a secure resumption of operations. Audit work has been initiated by BlockSec, PeckShield, and AstraSec, and Penpie is in talks with additional companies. Deposit and withdrawal functionality is expected to resume within 2–3 weeks after audit completion.
Penpie will also collaborate with Hexagate to integrate real-time monitoring and establish an efficient, proactive response system. Penpie continues to work closely with law enforcement agencies, security firms, partners, and key members of the crypto community—including major exchanges—to track and freeze funds related to the hackers. Additionally, Penpie is preparing to discuss potential user compensation plans on the Penpie governance forum. The platform expressed gratitude to users and partners for their ongoing support and patience during this process.
Previous report: On September 4, Penpie suffered a hacking incident in which a total of 11,113.6 ETH were stolen, worth approximately $27.34 million.
