TechFlow news, according to The Information citing two individuals who have tested the model, OpenAI plans to release its reasoning-focused AI model Strawberry as part of the ChatGPT service within the next two weeks—earlier than the previously reported fall timeline.
Although the release schedule could still change, some new details about the product have emerged. While Strawberry will be part of ChatGPT, it will be offered as a separate offering. It remains unclear exactly how it will be delivered; one possibility is that Strawberry will appear on a dropdown menu of AI models available for customers to choose from.
Compared to the regular service, Strawberry has its own unique strengths and limitations. Its most notable feature is that it can "think" before answering questions, rather than responding immediately. Testers report this thinking phase typically lasts between 10 and 20 seconds.
