TechFlow reports that Sonic SVM, a project aiming to scale the Solana blockchain to game-level speed and throughput, has announced plans to sell validator nodes worth up to $12.8 million within its HyperGrid decentralized framework.
The sale will take place during the week of September 16 and marks the first node sale in the Solana blockchain ecosystem. According to the project team, 50,000 "Hyperfuse nodes" will be offered across 20 pricing tiers.
Chris Zhu, CEO and co-founder of Sonic SVM, said proceeds from the sale will support the development team and general purposes such as grant disbursements.
Node sales have become a popular method for blockchain projects to raise funds while simultaneously decentralizing their networks. Buyers will be eligible for token rewards and will contribute to the security of the HyperGrid network.
Zhu also revealed that Sonic SVM's HyperGrid is similar to an OP Stack version for Solana, enabling the creation of new networks on top of Solana.
