TechFlow news — On September 4, according to Cointelegraph, Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs, revealed that the Sui blockchain is developing "internetless transactions" technology designed to enable offline cryptocurrency transactions via radio waves and other means. The preliminary research for this technology has been completed, enabling transaction data transmission through underwater waves, long-distance radio, and even SMS.
Sui is currently collaborating with Canadian company Chip Wireless to test this concept, with plans to apply it to IoT devices and decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) projects. The technology could be used not only for payments but also for coupons, rewards, and data transfer. Abiodun emphasized that this initiative aims to provide low-cost financial services to unbanked populations and those lacking internet access, potentially playing a critical role in disaster recovery, network outages, or low-connectivity areas, further advancing blockchain's application in financial inclusion.
