TechFlow reports, according to Scam Sniffer's August phishing report, approximately 9,145 victims lost around $63 million in cryptocurrency phishing scams.
Compared to July, the number of victims decreased by 34%, but the stolen amount surged by 215%. One victim alone lost up to $55 million in a phishing scam targeting proxy ownership.
The report noted a significant decline in fake accounts on X (formerly Twitter). ScamSniffer recommends optimizing the display of major phishing indicators and integrating its blacklist of phishing domains and addresses to protect users.
