TechFlow News — Japanese Bitcoin consulting firm Metaplanet has partnered with SBI VC Trade, the cryptocurrency division of financial services giant SBI Group, to support its ongoing efforts to increase corporate Bitcoin holdings.
According to a joint statement released Sunday, the partnership will allow Metaplanet to utilize SBI's custody services, designed to optimize tax efficiency and enable the use of Bitcoin as collateral for financing.
As a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company, Metaplanet has strategically pivoted toward Bitcoin this year, designating it as its primary reserve asset. The company has so far acquired 360 bitcoins (approximately $207 million) and is using them as collateral to strengthen its equity and debt financing capabilities.
