TechFlow reported, according to CoinDesk, that the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services plans to hold multiple hearings in September focusing on cryptocurrency-related issues, including decentralized finance (DeFi), regulation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the impact of "pig-butchering" scams.
The first hearing on September 10 will focus on DeFi. A hearing on SEC enforcement and "pig-butchering" scams is scheduled for September 18, followed by a full committee hearing on September 23 featuring testimony from the SEC, expected to center on digital asset regulation.
Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry, who is set to retire, expressed his hope to pass cryptocurrency legislation before the end of the year.
