TechFlow news, according to TheBlock, Kaia, the Layer 1 blockchain launched by messaging app giants Kakao and LINE, announced its mainnet will go live at 10:00 AM Beijing time on Thursday.
Launched in April, Kaia was formed by merging Kakao's Klaytn with LINE's Finschia. Kakao operates a messaging app used by 96% of South Koreans, while LINE is a leading messaging platform in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Together, these two apps serve over 250 million users.
Kaia aims to build an ecosystem supporting DeFi, gaming, real-world assets, and Web3-based messaging applications. Through its NEXTWEB software development kit (SDK), developers can create mini-dApps within LINE’s messaging tools. The company says it hopes to achieve "Telegram-style native application integration."
With the mainnet launch, Kaia has introduced a builder support program called Kaia Wave. Qualified teams using the NEXT WEB SDK will receive marketing, technical, and business support worth up to $1.2 million per team. Additional benefits include future token generation events and liquidity support.
