TechFlow reports that on August 27, on-chain investigator ZachXBT announced he had successfully helped victims recover approximately $205,000 in a large-scale Bitcoin theft incident. The incident initially occurred on August 19, involving suspicious transfers of 4,064 Bitcoins (worth about $238 million).
In a statement, Firn Protocol said that after receiving notification from ZachXBT, they swiftly took action and successfully froze and recovered around 80 ETH deposited by the attacker. These funds have been transferred to ZachXBT, who will coordinate their return to the victims.
Previous report: ZachXBT reported detecting a suspicious transaction, with potential victims losing $238 million worth of Bitcoin. The stolen funds were rapidly moved across multiple platforms, including ThorChain, eXch, Kucoin, ChangeNow, Railgun, and Avalanche Bridge.
