TechFlow News — TMRW, a Miami-based bitcoin startup, has announced a $1.3 million pre-seed funding round to develop a social payments application built on the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The round was led by Maple VC, with participation from bitcoin angel investor Brad Mills and others.
TMRW aims to leverage the speed and low cost of the Lightning Network to enable cross-border peer-to-peer payments through Lightspark and ZeroHash. The app utilizes Universal Money Addresses, an open payment standard based on the Lightning Network, enabling instant cross-border transfers between fiat and bitcoin. This positions TMRW to deliver fast, low-cost remittance services—particularly in regions like the Caribbean—offering a significant advantage over traditional providers.
TMRW is currently running a pilot in the Caribbean and has opened an iOS beta version to users in the United States.
