TechFlow news — Ava Labs COO Luigi D'Onorio DeMeo has regained access to his X account after falling victim to a phishing attack yesterday, which led to the hacking of his Twitter account.
DeMeo said that while swimming, he checked his email and clicked on a link from a fake message claiming his account had been accessed from Russia. He then entered his password and two-factor authentication code, resulting in the compromise of his account. He urged users to: 1) always verify the sender's email address; and 2) go directly to the application when changing passwords, rather than clicking links in emails. DeMeo apologized for the inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude for the support from the industry community.
