TechFlow reports, on August 19, Polygon's Chief Information Security Officer Mudit Gupta pointed out that although there is panic over Eigen Labs employees requesting airdrops from ecosystem sub-projects, in reality, 90% of Layer1/Layer2 BD teams directly ask for equity or airdrops under the guise of being advisors. Gupta suggested that if journalists want to investigate this issue, they could simply launch a fake new DEX and contact various Layer1/Layer2 BD teams to experience this phenomenon firsthand.
Earlier report, the restaking protocol EigenLayer sparked controversy due to its employees receiving large amounts of tokens from ecosystem project airdrops, with the total value of these tokens reaching nearly $5 million at their peak.
