TechFlow reports that Marinade, a liquid staking protocol in the Solana ecosystem, has announced its Stake Auction Marketplace (SAM) has officially entered Phase Two.
As a core component of Marinade's v2 upgrade, SAM aims to increase stakers' annual percentage yield (APY) by allowing validators to bid for staked funds.
Validators bid on stakers' SOL deposits through SAM—validators with larger stakes receive more additional rewards, such as priority fees. Stakers, in turn, earn these extra rewards via validator bids, effectively transferring benefits previously available only to validators directly to stakers.
By the end of August, stakers' APY is expected to match the winning auction APY.
