TechFlow News — NYSE Arca, a fully electronic securities exchange operated by the New York Stock Exchange, withdrew on August 13 its proposed rule change that was submitted in January. The proposal had aimed to allow options trading on crypto ETFs, including the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).
Currently, U.S. investors can only trade options on ETFs that track the performance of Bitcoin derivatives, not options on ETFs that actually hold Bitcoin.
Although NYSE Arca has withdrawn its proposal, other exchanges are still actively pursuing applications for listing cryptocurrency ETF options, reflecting ongoing market demand for such products.
