TechFlow News, August 14 — According to Coindesk, cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com announced it has become the official sponsor of UEFA Champions League, Europe's premier club football competition. The partnership will officially debut at the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Atalanta in Warsaw.
While the financial terms and exact duration of this multi-year sponsorship agreement have not been disclosed, it was previously reported that Crypto.com’s planned five-year Champions League sponsorship deal in 2022 was valued at $495 million. That deal was canceled due to regulatory challenges the company faced regarding its trading licenses in the UK, France, and Italy.
During the 2021–22 period, Crypto.com was one of the most active digital asset firms pursuing sports sponsorships, including securing naming rights for the home arenas of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings. Although market downturns later reduced such deals, sponsorship activity now appears to be making a broad comeback.
