TechFlow news, August 12 — According to Fox News, former President Trump plans to sue the U.S. Department of Justice over the 2022 raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, seeking $100 million in damages. Trump's legal team argues that the raid was conducted with clear intent of "political persecution."
Previously, special prosecutor Jack Smith brought 37 felony charges against Trump, but federal Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the case, ruling Smith's appointment and funding sources unlawful. Trump attorney Daniel Epstein stated that the Department of Justice's actions violated constitutional principles and failed to follow proper procedures. The DOJ has 180 days to respond, otherwise the case will be transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
