TechFlow News, August 11 — According to Jinshi News citing a recent CNBC and Generation Lab survey, young American voters currently favor Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump on economic issues. After President Biden announced his withdrawal from the race in July, the survey found that 69% of Americans aged 18 to 34 believe the economy is worsening under Biden's leadership. Nevertheless, 41% of respondents said Harris, the de facto Democratic presidential nominee, is most capable of improving the economy—slightly higher than the 40% who backed Republican candidate Trump.
In addition, 19% of respondents expressed preference for third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., indicating that young voters' economic preferences are relatively fragmented. However, overall confidence in Harris has risen. Compared to a May survey, the Democratic Party’s support on economic issues has increased by seven percentage points; at that time, only 34% viewed Biden as the best choice to boost the economy, while 40% chose Trump and 25% selected Kennedy.
