TechFlow reported that Base has announced on social media platforms that approximately 42 million OP tokens were transferred on-chain yesterday in a trustless and transparent manner. One year after its launch, Base has moved the first portion of the Optimism Superchain Grant into a new SmartEscrow contract, with the remaining tokens to be vested automatically according to the protocol. This marks Base's long-term commitment to the Superchain. Following the first vesting event later this month, the Base core team will be able to participate in Optimism governance. The transfer was timely, feeless, and required no intermediaries.
