TechFlow reports, according to Decrypt, that game publisher Atari has launched its classic arcade game Breakout on the Base chain. Originally designed by Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell and early Apple employee Steve Wozniak, this revival edition supports on-chain score tracking and NFT minting.
As part of Base's "OnChain Summer," players can compete for the top spot on the Atari Breakout leaderboard. Top scorers will have the chance to win weekly rewards, including retro 2600+ gaming consoles and gift cards.
Players can participate by connecting wallets such as Coinbase or MetaMask, and mint a Breakout NFT for 0.0015 ETH (approximately $3.60). Proceeds will be distributed to the developers and artists behind each game.
