TechFlow news, on August 9, Sui's ecosystem domain service SuiNS announced its restructuring into a decentralized protocol, enabling users to participate in governance via NS tokens. The specific token distribution is as follows: 57% of the NS tokens will be allocated to the treasury to fund development, support, and maintenance of additional SuiNS platform features; 28% will be distributed to core contributors and early supporters as rewards for their contributions; 10% will be airdropped to community members who have interacted with the SuiNS protocol to encourage community engagement; and 5% will be reserved for future users who actively participate in SuiNS governance, ensuring user-driven protocol development.
Additionally, SuiNS simplifies Sui users' wallet addresses by allowing them to choose shorter, more memorable names instead of complex strings. The initial batch of NS tokens has been distributed in the form of a soulbound NFT called the SuiNS (NS) Airdrop. Recipients can later unlock and claim their NS tokens, with exact amounts verifiable through the NFT.
