TechFlow reports that Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, shared the latest progress in Ethereum block construction research as of August 7. Vitalik stated that there is now broad industry consensus that it's a good idea to have multiple participants contribute transactions that must be included in blocks.
However, there remains an open debate on whether it's possible to avoid the "last mover" problem. Vitalik believes the topic of block construction is approaching a breakthrough.
