TechFlow news — Ryan Salame's lawyer, former co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, has requested a delay in his client's prison surrender date from a New York court to allow for emergency surgery. According to the attorney, Salame was "severely bitten" by a German shepherd at a friend's home on June 29.
Salame was originally scheduled to begin serving his sentence on August 29, but his legal team is now asking to postpone that date until October 13. A medical letter indicates Salame was evaluated on July 3 for facial dog bite injuries.
Last September, Salame pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to make illegal political donations and conspiring to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business, resulting in a seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence. He previously worked closely with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, who was sentenced in March this year to nearly 25 years in prison on fraud convictions.
