TechFlow reports that SlowMist founder Yu Xian shared on X the experience of Twitter user @0xMaxLin falling victim to a job-seeking scam, warning the community to beware of fake video conferencing software designed to trick potential victims into downloading malicious applications to steal cryptocurrency assets.
maxlin.eth reported a job-seeking scam in which the fraudster pretended to be from infrastructure development company xLabs and contacted the victim via Telegram, luring them into downloading malware. Under the guise of offering a marketing specialist position, the scammer conducted a fake interview using Zoom to lower the victim's guard. Near the end of the interview, the victim was asked to download a meeting application called Meetly. After installation, the app malfunctioned, and eventually the user realized the link led to a scam website. They promptly transferred their assets to another wallet, successfully avoiding potential theft.
