TechFlow news: Sui has announced the launch of its groundbreaking Mysticeti consensus protocol on the mainnet. The protocol reduced consensus time by 80% on the testnet, achieving a 390-millisecond consensus time and 640-millisecond settlement finality.
Mysticeti marks a new milestone in DAG-based consensus algorithms, decoupling latency from throughput while maintaining extremely high throughput during network and node failures.
Its key advantages include the minimal number of rounds required for commit, increased throughput without added latency, and earlier transaction commits.
Sui stated that this rollout will be gradual, with upgrades rolled out in several stages over the coming weeks. Mysticeti will enhance user experience across all applications, enabling lightning-fast transactions.
