TechFlow news — Taiko, an Ethereum Layer 2 network based on zkRollup, announced that it has been optimizing its Rollup protocol since mainnet launch, reducing L1 gas costs by over 30%. The team is now shifting focus toward developing new features and improving existing ones:
1. Enhanced L2 EIP-1559;
2. Transaction preconfirmation;
3. Introduction of a new transaction type: Sponsored Transactions;
4. Cancun EVM support;
5. Enabling contracts to use calldata as DA;
6. Enhanced Min-Tier selection.
In addition, the Ontake upgrade will include several of the features and improvements outlined above. Testing is scheduled to begin on the Hekla testnet before October, followed by a mainnet upgrade in Q4 this year.
