TechFlow reports that on July 22, Ethereum celebrated its 10th anniversary. Justin Drake, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, revealed on social media that on July 22, 2014, Ethereum launched its initial ICO, when 1 BTC could be exchanged for 2,000 ETH. Today, 1 BTC can only buy fewer than 20 ETH, meaning Ethereum has appreciated over 100x against Bitcoin.
Drake noted that since the implementation of EIP-1559, 4.3 million ETH have been burned to pay transaction fees, and even more ETH will be burned in the future due to new features. Ethereum's staking provides $100 billion in economic security for its ecosystem—ten times that of Bitcoin. Furthermore, ETH is widely recognized as a digital commodity, and tomorrow marks the start of spot ETH ETF trading in the U.S., signaling the beginning of institutional investment.
